Fantastic food and comfy stay!

Just wrapped up 2 nights here in a family room. Super clean and cozy, loved the toiletries they gave us! Breakfast was cooked on the spot, yay! The meals were on point too. Did a stargazing event which was epic! Only thing, the shower could use some more power. a great spot!

The 8-course tasting menu delivered some unique flavors and local ingredients that left a lasting impression. The interactive stargazing experience added an unforgettable twist to the night, engaging guests eager for some cosmic exploration.

The so-called double room turned out to be two twin beds pushed together, which wasn't what I signed up for. being above the bar was a bit of a misstep, as noise carried until closing time, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. The bathroom could use an update. it's a bit tired-looking, which detracts from the overall comfort of the stay. At dinner, a few dishes felt like they missed the mark, lacking that fresh zing and finesse expected at a place like this—definitely not worth the premium pricing.

The culinary delights at Battlesteads are a real treat! The homemade pies and hearty local breakfast options make you feel right at home. Plus, the thoughtful touches like fresh milk and garden-fresh veggies truly elevate the experience.

we recently stayed at this cozy hotel for a family holiday and were really impressed. the local produce used in both breakfast and dinner was fantastic, especially the homemade pies and sausages. the kids loved the garden and the proximity to hadrian's wall, making it a perfect base for exploring.
